Decision intelligence glossary
Plain-English definitions of the terms used across Vezras Enterprise OS and the wider field of enterprise decision intelligence.
- AI copilot
- An AI assistant that answers a question on request. On its own it usually has no memory of past business decisions and no audit trail; Enterprise OS adds both. Read more about AI copilot
- Business Cortex
- The living model of a business inside Enterprise OS. It combines the Business Graph, institutional knowledge, decision memory and external intelligence so recommendations are grounded in your own context. Read more about Business Cortex
- Business Graph
- The part of the Business Cortex that maps every entity, relationship and dependency across the organisation. Read more about Business Graph
- Business intelligence (BI)
- Tools and practices that report what happened, typically through dashboards and reports. BI remains a useful input to decision intelligence. Read more about Business intelligence
- Continuous learning loop
- The feedback cycle in which every outcome flows back into decision memory, so the system improves with use instead of resetting each quarter.
- Cross-functional visibility
- The ability for leaders in sales, finance, operations, people and engineering to see how their areas affect each other, within their existing permissions.
- Data silo
- Information held by one team or system that other teams cannot easily see or connect. Silos make leaders reconcile different numbers from different systems. Read more about Data silo
- Decision audit trail
- The traceable record behind every recommendation: the signals it read, the context from the Business Cortex and the human approval it received. Read more about Decision audit trail
- Decision intelligence
- A continuous synthesis of everything an organisation knows, producing contextual recommendations, scenario modelling, impact analysis and a decision audit trail. It is not analytics and not a dashboard.
- Decision memory
- The record of what was recommended, what was decided and what actually happened, used to make future recommendations sharper.
- Early warning signs
- Risks surfaced by reading signals together across systems, such as cash runway shortening, SLA exposure rising or renewals at risk, before they become incidents.
- Enterprise AI governance
- The controls that keep AI accountable: role-based access, human oversight, audit trail, encryption and compliance-first security. Read more about Enterprise AI governance
- Enterprise OS
- Vezras’s enterprise decision intelligence platform. It turns fragmented systems into one thinking model of the business and learns from every decision.
- External intelligence
- Market signals, competitors, regulatory changes and benchmarks that add outside context to internal signals in the Business Cortex.
- Human-in-the-loop AI
- A governance model where AI recommends and people approve and own consequential decisions, with every step recorded. Read more about Human-in-the-loop AI
- Impact analysis
- Projected outcomes of an action or event across departments, shown with confidence, so leaders understand exposure before deciding.
- Institutional knowledge
- SOPs, policies, thresholds and domain expertise captured from people so they inform recommendations.
- Managed service
- A delivery model in which the vendor deploys, configures and runs the platform with the customer. Vezras Enterprise OS is a managed service, not a software licence you configure yourself.
- Operating picture
- One connected view of the business that every leader works from, instead of reconciling different numbers from different systems.
- Role-based access control (RBAC)
- Restricting what each person can see and do according to their role. Enterprise OS replicates your existing roles and permissions and creates no new visibility. Read more about Role-based access control
- Root-cause analysis
- Tracing an issue back through connected systems to the events behind it. VezAI performs it across sales, finance, operations, IT and HR in natural language. Read more about Root-cause analysis
- Scenario modelling
- What-if analysis using real business variables, used to compare options before a decision is made.
- SOP automation
- Redesigning a standard operating procedure before automating it, so automation never locks in a broken process. Read more about SOP automation
- Standard operating procedure (SOP)
- A documented way of doing recurring work. Enterprise OS finds recurring problems in SOPs and improves them before automating.
- VezAI
- The conversational interface to Enterprise OS. Leaders ask questions in natural language, investigate root causes across systems and get role-scoped recommendations. Read more about VezAI
- Workflow automation
- Running work through triggers, task routing and human approvals. In Enterprise OS it follows process improvement. Read more about Workflow automation
